Le Petit Manoir

A private terrace and courtyard for an exceptional period property in France

This 18th century house occupies a commanding position on the medieval ramparts of Dinan in Brittany. Its elevated position creates the opportunity for a totally private west-facing terrace and a secluded courtyard.

The courtyard will combine architectural clipped evergreens and structurally strong grasses for contrasts of texture and movement, while the terrace allows for massed herb and lavender planting with a productive fig tree and vine.

The exterior paving will consist of the same stone as the refurbished ground floor, with gravelled areas reflecting the French tradition of boules pistes.  Simple exterior design will allow this special house to shine.
