In this plan the lawn is dispensed with completely, allowing for a large area of perennial planting in the client's favourite hot colours, interspersed with dramatic grasses and bulbs.
An important feature of the plan is the repeated motif of enclosure, with the pool and dining terrace wrapping round each other and 'insulating' plantings of the beautiful rowan, Sorbus cashmeriana and the cherry Prunus serrula with its gleaming mahogany bark.
The clients' love of entertaining is catered for in a large terrace positioned to catch the best of the sun and a dining terrace near to the house for more formal use.
